Open mic begins at 6pm with a sign-up sheet at the bar and goes until at least 9pm depending on the turn-out and the vibes of the night.

Artists, please keep your set to about 3-4 songs or 15 minutes if there are others signed up behind you.  We don’t wanna tell you how to do your job, but the more recognizable the song, the more crowd interaction you’ll get, guaranteed!  Also, please be respectful of our equipment, we’ve provided it for you so you don’t have to lug gear in and out, and we want to keep it all in good condition for the next act.  Thank you!

Once a month we have our friends from the local radio station KMMT / KRHV come on down to Distant to fire up the record player and play some vinyl, because we all know vinyl records are far more high quality than their digital counterparts, and no audio data is lost when musicians record on them. They sound exactly as they did when the songs were played in the studio that day!

We invite everyone to come down and bring a record to share, this night is for you as much as it is about listening to some great tunes.

Details:

• Bring a vinyl to share with the crowd
• Sign up with the DJ and let them know what songs you want to hear
• Wait your turn, the DJ will play your selection when the time is right

*DJs have the discretion to deny or stop playing a record at any time

The tournament takes place each Wednesday at 6pm with practice and sign-ups beginning at 4:30pm.  There is a $20 entry fee and 100% of payouts go to the players with first place taking home $160! The pool tournament is limited to the first 16 players to sign up, so come early to make sure you’re entered.  This tournament sells out weekly.
