Science on Tap – Nutcrackers and Nighttime Warming
Join us for Science on Tap at Distant Brewing featuring Dr. Hugh Safford, vegetation and fire ecologist in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at University of California, Davis and former Regional Ecologist for the USDA Forest Service.
Dr. Safford will discuss his recent discoveries of Jeffrey pines and other tree species growing at record elevations in the Sierra Nevada, and how climate warming and nutcracker seed dispersal may be reshaping alpine and subalpine forests.
The event opens at 6 p.m. and the talk begins at 6:30 p.m.
